The oil tree is the main equipment for controlling and regulating oil and gas production at the top of the oil and gas well. It consists of a tubing hanger and many gates and tees or crosses, which is directly installed on the casing head. The oil tree are equipped with a nozzle (choke nozzle), and the oil and gas production is controlled by replacing nozzles with different inner diameters. Its functions include hanging the oil pipe, supporting the weight of all the oil pipe strings in the well, sealing the annular space between the oil pipe and the casing, controlling and regulating the production of the oil well, ensuring various downhole operations, and recording oil pressure, casing pressure data as well as daily production management such as pressure measurement and wax cleaning.

Control oil and gas flow:
The Christmas tree controls the inflow and outflow of wellhead fluids through valve systems such as the main valve, safety valve, and control valve to control the output and flow of oil and gas.
Flow control:
Controls the flow of produced oil and gas or water/gas injected into the reservoir, and adjust the production of oil and gas through the nozzle (throttle valve).
Well sealing and safety protection:
In an emergency, the Christmas tree can quickly close all valves and seal the wellhead to prevent oil and gas leakage or blowout accidents.

How it works
The Christmas Tree integrates the various wellhead components by means of upper and lower flanges and secures the tubing hangers for high-precision operation. Once the tubing string is lowered into the wellbore, the tubing hangers are placed in a designated location inside the Christmas tree and a packer or seal assembly is used to ensure a tight seal. The side outlets of the Christmas tree are used to relieve pressure or test fluids and gases, and can also be used to inject completion fluids or to facilitate downhole intervention. The Christmas Tree’s main valve is critical to controlling the flow of hydrocarbons in the well, while safety valves automatically relieve pressure in the event of overpressurization to protect well integrity and personnel safety. Christmas Tree’s control system includes throttle and wing valves to accurately regulate well productivity and pressure, optimizing the production process and maintaining operational efficiency.
